Letter to Damar
Such great news today. Doctors say you’re awake. Still critical, but showing remarkable improvement. Stay the course. You’re a fighter.

When things are flying at your head: duck and cope.
Ever feel like a lot of things are flying at your head? Not literally of course, but more like information or events that you are trying to process and deal with all at once. It can be hard to keep up.

Where does your peace lie?
Where does your peace lie, that quiet strength and inner calm that soothes your soul like a healing balm? Where does your peace lie?

We will rise up: We need a plan
Let’s face it. We’ve been at this for awhile now and it’s not easy. Call it social distancing, sheltering in place or self quarantining. I hesitate to call this our new normal, but in fact that’s what it is ….for now. It’s anything, but normal, isn’t it?

We will rise up - beyond the panic
I’m grateful for social media these days. It can still have its down side, but it closes the distance and allows us to remain in contact with family and friends when direct contact isn’t the best option. Whatever else we do or don’t know, having contact with others who care about you and support you is important. Now what? Let’s talk. Calmly. Even if you aren’t feeling calm, let’s give it a try. No politics. No hysteria. No hype.

The face of freedom on Independence Day!
On July 2, 1776, delegates representing the thirteen colonies voted to adopt the resolution for their independence from Britain. The Declaration of Independence written by future President Thomas Jefferson would then be ratified two days later on July 4th.

I know where you are, still… I miss you, Dad!!
On this day before Father’s Day, my mind is where it always is this time of year. On my dad. Though gone for 13 years now, it doesn’t get easier….it gets different. That first Father’s Day came just a few weeks after he died in 2005 and felt so emotional.
